My Mexico City Travel Guide
A collection of my favorite places in Mexico City, with personal impressions and additional information.

Caldos de Gallina "Luis"
Fantastic chicken soup.

La Pasadita
Cheap fast late night food, great torta.

Tacos "El Gato Volador"
The best cheapest taco food stall right on a busy corner.

Cariñito Tacos
Newer taco spot, has traditional and more modern toppings.

Carmel
Spanish spot for vermouth and tapas if you're tired of Mexican food.

El Pescadito
Great quesotote taco (corn tortilla filled with an entire chile relleno and fried shrimp).

Tlacoyos Medellín
Mornings only, these ladies set up on the street outside of the Medellin market and serve some of the best tlacoyos anywhere.

Café de Nadie
Great little modern cocktail bar.

Handshake
Best cocktail bar in the world, won many awards and some of the best cocktails I've ever had anywhere. Requires a reservation as it's 2+ hour wait otherwise.

El Palenquito
Also good for food too. Part of a restaurant group so their other spots are good too and rather similar in quality.

Pulquería "La Pirata"
Off the beaten path, great spot to have traditional fermented Pulque.

Audiorama Parque Mexico
Walk this oval park for tree covered walkways with many cafes and restaurants that line this little park in La Condesa.

Bosque de Chapultepec
Huge park that can be explored for hours. Also inside is the CDMX letters (a great tourist photo opportunity) and the History Museum.

Biblioteca Vasconcelos
Huge library with the inside architecture like you've never seen to display the books on their hanging shelves.

Palacio de Bellas Artes
Huge cultural center building and plaza.

Mercado de San Juan
One of the more unique and busy markets in the city center. Pricier but good for a lunch or snack stop.

Mercado de Artesanías La Ciudadela
Art focused market full of handmade and manufactured items. Good for a souvenir or some clothing as well.
