My Madrid Travel Guide
A collection of my favorite places in Madrid, Spain, with personal impressions and additional information.

Bodega de la Ardosa
Small, old school vermouth bar and restaurant, great olives.

La Musa Malasaña
Newer fusion food. Great for dinner but has a great daily lunch special

Bodegas el Maño
Traditional spanish restaurant with old charm while still feeling a bit upscale.

Casa Camacho
Bright, old vermouth bar. Get the gin & vermouth special. Small bites available as well.

La Colmada
New age wine bar with small bites. Also bottles to-go for purchase.

El Parque del Retiro
Large, beautiful park featuring ponds and palace made out of glass in the middle. Great for a grocery store sandwich for a picnic.

Plaza Mayor
The busiest plaza, but could be worth a walk around at night to see what sort of street performers are up to.

Puerta del Sol
Another busy, touristy plaza that's close to Gran Via

Gran Vía
Touristy shopping area that's good for people watching and some clothing from stores we don't have in the States. Just don't eat around there.

Mercado de San Fernando
A less busy, but still full, market. Good for lunch, or just looking around to see how the locals buy food.
